Maryland Real Estate Principles and Practice for Salespersons
Pre-licensing on-line program
Please read this prior to registering for a course
Is this course approved and required in order to obtain a salesperson’s license?
Yes. The online program, Maryland Real Estate Principles and Practice for Salespersons, is approved by the Maryland Higher Education Commission and the Maryland Real Estate Commission and is the program you need to complete and pass in order to sit for the Maryland licensing exam.
What are the prerequisites for the online course?
You must be at least 18 years of age and provide a copy of a high school diploma, GED, College degree or transcript. You must send of one of these documents along with proof of age and completed Enrollment Agreement to 410-54-5704 fax or instituteofrealestate@championrealty.com , Attn: Linda Doherty.
What is the cost of the program and how do I pay?
The cost of our online program is $250 and is payable online at the RECampus website upon registration. VISA, Mastercard and American Express credit cards are accepted.
Are books included with the course?
No. Books are not required for the program. However, books are available for an addition cost on the RECampus site. Click on the “bookstore” to order the recommended text.
How do I register for the course?
Go to Course Registration below and follow directions. The next window is the RECampus website. Cursor to “Real Estate” (upper left navigation) and click on “Pre-Licensing”. The next web page will require you to download our Enrollment Agreement which must be completed, signed and emailed to instituteofrealestate@championrealty.com or faxed to the Institute at 410-544-5704 along with your proof of age and education at the time of your registration and prior to beginning the program. We recommend that you also download and read the School Catalog to better familiarize yourself with the program.
How often can I access the course?
Once you’ve registered and paid for the course, you can access it 24/7 for 90 days. Please note that after 15 minutes of inactivity on any page, you will automatically be logged out.
Do I need to complete the full 60 hours or can I finish in less time?
Yes. Maryland Licensing Law Requires that a student spend the full 60 hours (3,600) minutes in order to proceed to the online final exam. The school monitors each student’s time and will not permit a student to advance to the online final exam unless he/she has completed the required time.
How long do I have to complete the course?
You have 90 days from the date of purchase to complete each unit and the online final. Once you have completed the online portion of the program, you must contact Linda Doherty at 410-975-3322 to schedule the two-hour, 100-question proctored final. The proctored final must be taken within 30days of the online program completion. In order to pass the program and progress to the Maryland state test for licensure, you must pass the proctored final with a score of 70% or better. You will have two opportunities to take the proctored final.
What if I can’t finish the online course within the 90 days? Can I get an extension?
No extensions will be granted if your circumstances change and you know that completion with in the 90 days will be impossible, you may want to request a refund. Refunds will be based on the number of units completed in relationship to the total number of units in the program.
